Training against domestic violence will be organized

Public organization “Civil Union” announced special training organizations in Kyrgyzstan that teach the procedure of protection against domestic violence and providing legal assistance to victims.

With the help of the “Active Citizens” project of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the organization will launch a free online course on March 30 on the topic “Providing legal and psychological assistance to families in difficult life situations.”

It can be attended by women who have suffered from domestic violence, as well as by anyone who wants to know their rights and ways to protect themselves from such treatment. Women who are unable to collect alimony for their children from their divorced husbands and are unable to protect their rights to land can also participate in the said course and get information.

It is said that there have been many incidents of violence against women and children in Kyrgyzstan recently. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, more than 10,000 cases of domestic violence are registered every year.
