At the beginning of October, the federal states had decided on an accommodation ban for holidaymakers from domestic areas with high numbers of corona infections – however, massive criticism followed, and some federal states had already overturned the ban. The proposal was due to be discussed again on October 14, but there was no agreement. Conclusion: The topic was postponed to November 8th, until then the patchwork of the ban on accommodation remains. The German Tourism Association (DRV) expressed disappointment: “It is a bitter setback for Germany as a travel destination that the accommodation bans in many federal states initially continue to apply,” said Managing Director Norbert Kunz, as reported by WELT.
