US rapper Travis Scott has agreed to help the families of those who died at the Astroworld music festival. He offers to cover all funeral expenses incurred for the families of the eight people who died at the concert last weekend.

As “TMZ” reports from people close to the musician, he also wants to take care of psychosocial support for those affected. To do this, he is expected to work with BetterHelp – a network of mental health professionals – to provide free psychological services to anyone who has attended the Astroworld Festival and wants to talk about their trauma.

Was Travis Scott warned about the performance?

A mass panic broke out during Travis Scott’s performance on Friday evening (November 5th) in Houston, Texas at the Astroworld music festival. Eight people were killed and more than 300 injured.

As it became known on Monday, police chief Troy Finner allegedly warned the rapper about his appearance. An unnamed person told the New York Times that Finner should have spoken to Scott before the performance. He allegedly warned the rapper of a heated atmosphere in the crowd. However, referring to the ongoing investigations, a police spokeswoman did not want to confirm whether the conversation had taken place.

First opinion from rapper Drake

Meanwhile, other stars spoke up about the tragedy. Rapper Drake was on stage with colleague Travis Scott during the accident. Together with his colleague, he is sued for more than one million US dollars by a festival-goer who, according to his own account, was “seriously injured” in the panic. This accuses the rappers, among other things, of inciting the crowd, as reported by the “Daily Mail”.

Drake has now published a statement on his Instagram account. “I’ve spent the last few days dealing with this devastating tragedy,” writes the star. It is difficult for him to express a feeling like sadness on this platform, but currently sees it as the only possibility.

“My heart is broken for the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and for everyone who suffers. I will continue to pray for all of them and stand by them in any way I can,” he continues.

Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian also commemorate victims

The half-sisters Kendall Jenner and Kim Kardashian have meanwhile also issued statements on the mass panic. Jenner was present at the festival with sister Kylie Jenner, friend of Travis Scott, the sisters were unharmed. On her Instagram story, she wrote that she still had not found the right words to talk about the event. “I feel really broken thinking about the families who have lost loved ones and I send prayers to all of those affected,” she added. She sends all her love to those affected and wishes them strength in this difficult time, the model concluded her post.

Kim Kardashian also included brother-in-law Travis Scott in her statement. In her Instagram story, she also remembered “all of those who have left us or been injured. Just like all of you, our family is in shock,” Kardashian’s statement continues. “We include all victims, families and loved ones in our prayers to send them healing – just like Travis, who we know how much his fans mean to him and who is also devastated.”
