Thanks to the founder of TRON, Justin Sun, the project has received a lot of public attention. Sun often joins Twitter to praise the project's achievements, such as acquiring BitTorrent or making one third of Ethereum's daily transactions.
However, Sun was not the man who shared TRON's success, instead the announcement came from the project's technical director, Marcus Zhao. In a video interview with Taras Podgorodetskyi from the YouTube channel "Crypto News Nakamoto Jedi," Zhao reveals new information about the project while defending it against naysayers.
TRON against Ethereum
Zhao does not forget to spend time praising TRON. Immediately the developer says that their platform is "faster and cheaper" than competitor Ethereum.
"ETH developers can easily develop on TRON," continues Zhao. However, when Podgorodetskyi claims that developers prefer to use ETH for developing decentralized applications than TRON, Zhao finds that Ethereum has only one advantage, since it has existed for four years. TRON's platform was officially launched just a few months ago, but only in beta.
"We will definitely experience an explosion of DApps after the official launch," predicts Zhao.
Podgorodetskyi then urges Zhao on some of TRON's plagiarism allegations, such as Ethereum's project code, but the developer skips the question and states, "As far as I know, TRON is the only public chain with no post-launch issues." Zhao continues:
"In comparison, ETH and EOS had problems with block generation when they launched them, TRON never used the ETH protocol, but to gain ethereum developers, we made our TVM compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) however, we are self-sustaining the consumption of resources and making the TVM compatible with more virtual machines. "
Of course, it is very unlikely that a team member would admit to stealing code in an interview, but you have to ask yourself all the similarities behind the two platforms.
Zhao then unveiled some of the upcoming TRON projects: anonymous transactions, multi-signature and a BFT consensus mechanism were mentioned alongside a "secret project" by BitTorrent based on the TRON platform.

TRON's alternative approach
Interestingly, Podgorodetskyi asks how Sun was selected as TRON Super Representative in just one day, even though other representatives had to wait days or even weeks for the position. In response, Zhao reveals that "Justin has many followers and supporters of the community, and because they trust Justin and his ability to perform the knot well, Justin could be chosen so quickly."
TRON is only managed by 27 super-representatives. However, the current delegates are distributed around the world, including in Africa, Europe, America and China. Zhao then reveals that TRON Super Representatives are indeed more decentralized than Bitcoin nodes or the 21 block producers on EOS.
Zhao also comments on the supersaturated state of the ICO market:
"As there are oceans of ICOs, investors will turn to valuable investments, and ultimately the value of good projects will become apparent, and I believe we need professional agencies, not individual investors, to participate in the ICOs."
Zhao ends the interview with a positive outlook on the cryptocurrency market, despite his current bear status. For Zhao, the prices are currently not that important. Instead, "as long as the number of cryptocurrency application [sic] "People will be flocking to decentralized technology and making it an important part of their daily lives.
