TUI: 15 direct flights from Graz this summer »news | tip

This summer TUI guests will travel directly from Graz Airport to the Greek islands of Crete, Rhodes, Kos, Corfu and now to Karpathos and Zakynthos, Mallorca, Antalya and Hurghada. Also new is the weekly direct connection to Larnaca from August 2nd.

“Right after the travel restrictions were relaxed, bookings rose sharply. Many planes were fully booked within a short period of time, ”said Gottfried Math, Managing Director of TUI Austria on Thursday at a press conference at Graz Airport. When booking a trip, the issue of security is crucial. A short, direct journey is more important for TUI guests this year. Therefore, the organizer has increased the flight offer from Graz for the summer and is offering 15 flights per week to five vacation countries, so Math.

TUI has been a partner of the airport for many years

“TUI has been the largest tour operator partner for Graz Airport for years, which is characterized by reliability, diversity and the courage to try new things,” says Wolfgang Grimus, Managing Director of Graz Airport. “This year’s program includes long-term popular destinations such as Rhodes, Crete, Kos and Corfu as well as three new destinations with Larnaca, Karpathos and Zakynthos.” As the flight program for summer this year starts a little later than usual, TUI is extending the summer season in Greece the flights to Crete and Rhodes, as well as Cyprus and Mallorca until the end of October, according to the organizer.

Greece trending

When it comes to the most popular travel destinations for the people of Graz, trips around the Mediterranean in 2021 are in demand. “We expect a good summer especially for Greece. We have therefore expanded our offer from Graz and are also offering two new Greek destinations with Zakynthos and Karpathos. We operate the flights with our proven flight partner European Air Charter, ”says David Szabo, Head of Operations at TUI Austria. The large Greek islands of Crete, Rhodes and Kos would be ahead in terms of popularity and offer the most extensive range of options. This summer, however, smaller islands would also be in demand, such as Karpathos and Zakynthos, both of which will be offered from Graz from mid-July, according to TUI in the press release.

New from Graz directly to Cyprus

For the greatest possible variety, TUI is sticking to a broad hotel portfolio in summer 2021 and has the right offer for every holidaymaker. In addition to Greece, TUI also expects good demand for Cyprus and Spain. With Cyprus, another holiday Eldorado will be offered directly from Graz Airport from August 2nd. Student city life and culture in Limassol, hiking and biking in the Troodos Mountains near Paphos and holiday hotels and sandy beaches in Ayia Napa: Cyprus is a tourist all-rounder. The Austrian guests also appreciate this very much. There is also news on the hotel side: The premium club brand Robinson will open the first club in Cyprus in summer 2021, expanding its portfolio to 26 facilities worldwide. The new Robinson Cyprus is located in Alaminos directly on the long sandy beach on the southeast coast of Cyprus between Larnaca and Limassol. Both families and active vacationers get their money’s worth in the club.

Security and flexibility

When booking, security and flexibility are currently particularly important. With the TUI-Flex tariff, vacationers have the option of rebooking or canceling flat-rate flights free of charge up to 14 days before arrival. In the event of cancellation, customers will be reimbursed the entire travel price including the Flex tariff. That is well received: Over 80% of all new bookings are currently bookings with the Flex tariff, reveals the organizer.

Positive outlook for the near future

TUI and Graz Airport are looking to the next few months with optimism. “The progress made in vaccination and improved test options lay the foundation for safe travel. We anticipate that there will be a strong catch-up effect, especially in the summer months, and that the planes on many routes will quickly be booked out during the summer holidays, ”says Gottfried Math.
