Twitter introduces a feature that dedicated football fans can follow their beloved team.

The social media platform gives the fans accurate and instant updates of current games through the app's new event pages.

It will allow fans to track games more accurately than the current method of filtering tweets based on the hashtag of a game.

Football fans can watch matches from several major European leagues, including the championship and the Premier League.

Previously, individual match hashtags were used to filter content related to these games.

The new features will refer to special events pages created for each Premier League and Championship game as well as top leagues in Spain, Italy, France and Germany.

For UK users, the new pages are displayed in the Twitter Explore app's Explore tab. A repeating section will also be part of the page telling the story of the match in reverse chronological order

On a Premier League homepage, a section titled "What's going on" is displayed among Twitter's trend themes.

Twitter used the first pages of football events during the summer World Cup.
