The US company Twitter is looking for new sources of income. The latest idea: live shopping. A first attempt is now being made in the USA – with the support of celebrities.

The platform Twitter wants to earn money with shopping in real time in the future. The US dealer Walmart is also there with immediate effect. For Cyber ​​Week, the brand has hired singer Jason Derulo, who will accompany the very first shopping-ready livestream on Twitter.

Derulo will host a 30-minute variety show that includes electronics, housewares, clothing, seasonal decorations, and surprise guests, according to Twitter.

When users access a stream on the platform, they can take various actions – such as viewing the shoppable banner and the shop tab on the live event page. And they can follow the live stream on the retailer’s website in an in-app browser.

At the beginning of 2021, Twitter began testing the shop module with selected brands, and it is to be made available to other retailers in the United States in the coming weeks. An expansion to other countries should be on the agenda.
