Already announcing the composition, Vītoliņš said that he would do so. If the Pittsburgh “Penguins”, represented by Theodore Bluger, or the “Maple Leafs” of Toronto, represented by Christian Rubin, withdraw from the National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup, both will have the opportunity to rush to the aid of the national team.

Currently, strikers Klāvs Veinbergs and Oskars Lapinskis, who have gone to this tournament with the national team for the first time, have been left out of the application for the world championship.

The World Hockey Championship in the Finnish cities of Tampere and Helsinki will start on Friday with four of the 64 games. The Latvian national unit will be in Latvia and the USA in Group B at 16.20.
