Ulyanovsk Oblast doctors work on HIV detection in children

Ulyanovsk Oblast doctors continue to develop methods for early detection of HIV in children. This was reported by Natalia Abdullova, the chief freelance specialist on problems of diagnosis and treatment of HIV infection of the Ministry of Health.

The Ministry of Health, Family and Social Welfare of the Ulyanovsk region discussed the need for early HIV diagnosis in children. It is noteworthy that the problem became topical because of a 8.5% reduction in the risk of transmitting the disease to the child from the mother. Specialists made parallels between the situation with the incidence of children and came to the conclusion that the problem is becoming relevant for the region.
By the way, in Mordovia for last week have found out 25 new cases infected with HIV. The number of infectious diseases (except for influenza and SARS) was 353 cases (39.39% more than a week earlier).
