Anne and Jean-Louis are both in their mid-thirties. Anne has a little daughter, Jean-Louis a son of the same age. Both have placed their children in the same boarding school in Deauville and live in Paris. On a Sunday in December, the parents visit their children and get to know each other when Anne misses her train in the evening and Jean-Louis takes her with him in his car. Anne talks about her love for her husband, whom she met as a stuntman while shooting a film, about his love of adventure and enthusiasm. Only at the end of the journey does she confess to Jean-Louis that her husband died in an accident on the set.
The passionate love story with film music that went around the world established the fame of the two leading actors Jean-Louis Trintignant and Anouk Aimée. UN HOMME ET UNE FEMME won the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 1966 and two Oscars in 1967 for Best Foreign Film and Best Screenplay.
In memory of Jean-Louis Trintignant (11.12.1930 – 17.06.2022) we present Claude Lelouch’s classic UN HOMME ET UNE FEMME from 1966.
