The club has made public in a statement that the blockade situation regarding the facilities forces this decision to be made.

On May 13, Unionistas de Salamanca received notification that the City Council would not approve their proposal in which they assumed the cost of natural grass for the coming season. Given this fact, the club has made it clear that they do not see their return to Las Pistas as viable and that, therefore, its continuity as an entity is in danger.

The situation is such that Unionists have communicated that it paralyzes sports planning for next season. Given the situation, they say, “blockingin the mandatory adaptation of the municipal facilities of the Reina Sofía stadium for the start of the 2022-2023 season, the club is forced to “Suspend the negotiations and design tasks of both the technical staff of the first team and the rest of the academy teams, and also of the first team footballers.”
