UNIVA trains leaders with the interactive pedagogy model

At the Universidad del Valle de Atemajac (UNIVA) they aim to train leaders. Therefore, it adapted its educational model.

Salvador Cervantes, senior general director of the university, stressed that They have their own model called interactive pedagogy, which is centered on the student and on teaching-learning processes.

“In the last three years, a more flexible, adaptable, active model has been established, in which comprehensive flexibility is sought with its own elements, such as designing academic experiences guided by different resources and that students can use a collaborative model of the best of the virtual and face-to-face world. This led us to potentialize our online university, with which we already have 30 years”.

With this model, a constant emergence of macrosocial conditions in the classrooms is intended, in response to the contingency due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the contingencies that may arise.

Although learning has always been focused on the student, it has had several moments and, over the years, new forms of teaching have been created to generate more autonomous learning and with other means of training. For example, he redesigned the educational offer with relevant study programs and with a focus on training, identifying, attracting, developing and retaining high-quality talent. “We are 11 campuses in the UNIVA System and a boost has been sought for innovation and intercampus linkages, with the sectors with the greatest productive complexity.”

The director stressed that they have promoted monitoring and evaluation models based on impact measurement in a new institutional development plan and have adapted to the constant changes in the market, society and the world. With this educational model, students have quality education, especially teachers who work in the professional area with new teaching-learning processes seeking to make their training meaningful. “That it makes sense in life skills. Not only your professional skills, but the ones you will need to be learning and practicing in the new environments. Also with a holistic, prospective and digital approach”. This learning is experimental, active, participatory in different types of projects. For this, the training of teachers is constant.
