Two men were killed in an accident in the district of Emsland. Her car had strayed from a straight highway in Werlte on Wednesday evening and crashed into a tree, police said on Thursday. The men were therefore not buckled.
The car crashed into a tree
The 43-year-old passenger was thrown through the windshield and was probably immediately dead. Even the 37-year-old driver died despite emergency medical care still at the scene. At first it was said that he had died in the ambulance.
How it came to the accident on dead straight country road 30, was initially unclear. It looks as if the car has gradually strayed off the lane and then crashed into a chaussey tree, said a spokesman. There are no skid marks.
