The Online Latin American Technological University (UTEL) is a Mexican private university of online education, with headquarters in Mexico and presence in Latin America and European countries. As of May 2, 2022, UTEL’s enrollment is greater than +100,000 students and graduates. UTEL has +70 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs endorsed by the SEP, in its faculties of engineering, economics – administration, social sciences and humanities and hospitality and tourism.

UTEL begins its activity in 2008 when it was founded by Mtro. Ignacio Guerra Pellegaud, his study plans are included in the National Educational System, granted by the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Undersecretary of Higher Education, General Directorate of Higher University Education, Directorate of Private Institutions of Higher Education and Secretary of Education of the Government of the State of Mexico (SEGEM). It is governed by the General Law of Higher Education, article 3. Its structure, organization and operation have been designed in accordance with the parameters of AMECYD.

In 2015, the online Latin American Technological University (UTEL) reaches 200,000 enrolled students and celebrates its first graduation with 155 graduates of bachelor’s degrees and 75 master’s degrees.

On October 1, 2018, it receives the “Educational Excellence Award 2018” from EDUCAEDU from 100 best valued academic institutions, other universities have received this recognition in their respective faculties.

pedagogical method[editar]

UTEL’s pedagogical method is based on the following pillars:

online classes. The online classes are planned so that the student takes them when they decide, the classes are recorded and the student can see them later. The classes are carried out using conference software.

Coach personal. UTEL has developed the figure of the personal coach or tutor who has regular contact with each student to help them with the activities and difficulties that they may encounter during the study.

Continuous assessment: A progressive and constant learning model is followed. Teachers assess the student’s progress through continuous assessment that takes into account exams, assignments, class attendance, participation in forums and activities.
