Venezuela vs Dominican, Baseball Pre-Olympic Final: Result (8-5)

After several attempts, the national team of Dominican Republic had to resort to the last resort to qualify for the Tokyo Olympics baseball tournament that will be held this 2021 after having won by 8-5 to Venezuela in the final of the Baseball Pre-Olympic thanks to a six-run attack in the fourth inning.

This is the second time in history that a Dominican team qualifies for the Olympic baseball tournament after the first rendering came to Barcelona 1992, participation in which they were left out during the first round after finishing 2-5.

The Dominican Republic had to go until the third and last opportunity to qualify for the next Olympic Games. In November 2019 they spent the first opportunity in the First12, a tournament in which they could not advance beyond the first round. The second had arrived at the beginning of this month with the Pre-Olympic of the Americas, an event in which they stayed to a combination of results to get the pass that the United States ended up claiming.

With this victory against the Venezuelan team, Dominican finished their participation in the tournament undefeated as they also won the first two games of the round robin.
