Solar power panels in Merefa, Ukraine, in the Kharkiv region, were destroyed by a missile attack on Saturday, said solar power station manager Volodymyr Ranchkovsky.
Local authorities said there were no casualties in the Saturday morning attack and that power had been restored.
Security camera footage obtained by Reuters showed various angles of the moment of the explosion in the solar panels, which created a large crater where Ranchkovsky was seen collecting debris on Saturday.
“There is no military infrastructure here. It’s just a solar power plant,” Ranchkovskyi said.
Local media reported bombings over Merefa in recent days.
Ukraine’s General Staff also said on Saturday that several Russian attacks hit communities and infrastructure near Kharkiv.
