AMD shareholders presented the RDNA 2 GPU and offered several novelties in this new technology that will be installed in the consoles PS5 and Xbox Series X, the main competitors in the market.

During the presentation, it was detailed that this new technology will be optimized for a better video game experience. Also, the new GPU will offer better performance, specifically 50% higher, than the RDNA current having the same power consumption.

Likewise, it was confirmed that the new technology will have lighting Ray Tracing, which makes the light, reflections and shadows on the surfaces very similar to reality. Of course it will improve power consumption performance Perf/Watt.

It is important to clarify that this new architecture of the GPU it will be exclusive to the consoles of the new generation; that is, the PlayStation 5 Y Xbox Series X. In this way, AMD look for a better experience between developers and companies.

In short, the new PS5 will feature an eight-core processor based on the 7-nanometer Zen 2 architecture manufactured by AMD Y GPU with architecture AMD Radeon RDNA Navi. It should be noted that this new technology will make possible lighting by Ray Tracing.
