Video: Oliver Enkamp hits unreal ‘Submission of the Year’ contender with first-ever buggy choke at Bellator 281

Oliver Enkamp made Bellator history on Friday with one of the most successful submission finishes the MMA world will see all year.

A former UFC welterweight fighter in Sweden, Enkamp was caught in a back-and-forth with Mark Lemminger on the Bellator 281 undercard before landing the first buggy choke even seen under the aegis of the promotion. Lemminger charged inside and knocked out Enkamp with a spinning heel kick attempt, only for Enkamp to immediately lock the American in the historic choke just 25 seconds into round three.

Video of the wild contestant for “Submission of the Year” can be seen below.

Enkamp (11-3) has now won four of his five Bellator fights since splitting from the UFC. Lemminger (12-5) has been finished in back-to-back fights at Bellator.

The choke buggy is a rarely seen technique that has been developed in recent years by Austin Hardt, a member of Ralph Gracie’s California jiu-jitsu team.
