VIDEO: Tense atmosphere in Flamengo, Gabigol scores and gestures for Paulo Sousa

Flamengo lost the Carioca Championship final with Abel Braga’s Fluminense. Paulo Sousa’s team had been defeated in the first leg (2-0) and did not go beyond a draw (1-1) in the second game, at Maracanã.

During the match, the Portuguese coach’s dissatisfaction was evident in relation to the lack of intensity of the forwards in the defensive process, especially Gabigol and Bruno Henrique.

The various moments in which Paulo Sousa caught the attention of the forwards:

In the middle, when Gabigol put Flamengo ahead (in the 28th minute), before the 1-1 signed by Cano, the Brazilian international decided to gesture insistently towards Paulo Sousa, showing some discomfort. In fact, there was an exchange of words between coach and player.

In the press conference after the match, the Portuguese coach tried to devalue the incident: «I am a person for good, I try to lead with a maximum of respect for myself, for the group and I try to use football to educate, looking at myself same. We have to have positive communication», said Paulo Sousa.
