KOMPAS.com – Video showing Minister of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Mendikbud Ristek) Nadiem Makarim mentioning a “shadow organization” viral on social media, Twitter.
The video was uploaded by the account this on Thursday (22/9/2022).
“In the Ministry of Education there is a shadow organization that seems to determine everything. What is that organization?” write uploader.

In the 45-second video, Nadiem is seen attending a meeting and expressing his opinion.
The snippet said that he had a team consisting of a group of people.
“Right now we have 400 product managers, software engineers and scientists that have created of shadow organization attach to our ministry,” said Nadiem.

Furthermore, Nadiem said that the team was not a vendor for the Ministry, but had an equal position with the Director General.
Nadiem’s statement raised questions from a number of netizens. They questioned about the “shadow organization”.

Acting Director General (Dirjen) of Higher Education, Research, and Technology Kemendikbud-Ristek Prof Nizam said, shadow organization what Nadiem calls a team Information and Technology (IT).
“That’s the IT team under the data and information center (pusdatin) under the Secretary General,” he explained when confirmed Kompas.com, Sunday (25/9/2022).
Meanwhile, Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture’s Research and Technology Center for Data and Information, Hasan Chabibie, explained that this technology team consists of experts in charge of developing various platforms.
“The technology team mentioned by Mas Minister are experts in technology, data and applications who are involved in designing and developing various technology platforms for the education sector,” he said separately, Sunday (25/9/2022).
They, Hasan added, collaborated intensively with the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin) of the Ministry of Education and Culture and related technical units.
The IT team comes from GovTech Edu which is under PT Telkom Indonesia.

Furthermore, the joining of more than 43 thousand practitioners into the Practitioner Teaching program is also the result of this collaborative initiation.
“In addition, more than 51 trillion potential budgets for the education function for the 2022 fiscal year are managed in a more transparent and accountable manner with the support of the ARKAS, SIPLah, and TanyaBOS platforms,” said Hasan.
