On the weekend Kremlin boss Chancellor Angela Merkel visits Germany. But before that there is another appointment on Vladimir Putin's schedule.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will be a guest at the wedding of Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl. The Kremlin chief will travel to the Alpine republic on Saturday, before he meets Chancellor Angela Merkel at Schloss Meseberg north of Berlin on the same day. That said his spokesman Dmitry Peskov according to Russian agencies.
The wedding bells are to ring for the 53-year-old Kneissl and her partner in Styria. An exact location was initially not publicly known. The ceremony will also be attended by the Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) and Vice-Chancellor Heinz-Christian Strache (FPÖ). Kneissl is party-free and was proposed by the right-wing FPÖ for her ministerial office.

Kneissl personally invited the Russian head of state during his visit to Vienna in June, Kremlin adviser Yuri Ushakov said. "We'll drop by and congratulate," said the politician. Whether further dates are planned in Austria, was initially open. It would be Putin's second visit to Austria within a few weeks.
