Waldkirch: Artist Peter Seip continues to sell paintings for the benefit of the Black Forest Zoo in Waldkirch – some of his works can be seen in the former Cafe Schill

Since June, artist Peter Seip has been exhibiting some of his works in the former Cafe Schill. The works are sold for the benefit of the Black Forest Zoo. Around 900 euros have already been handed over to the Friends of the Black Forest Zoo. After redecorating and adding to the works, Seip hopes that the Black Forest Zoo will benefit from more than 1,000 euros from the further sale.

After his retirement, Peter Seip made painting his hobby. Animal characters are his trademark, but nature and landscape motifs such as the Kastelburg are also among his specialties. Of the 20 works originally exhibited in Cafe Schill, 11 have already been sold for the benefit of the Black Forest Zoo. The Friends of the Black Forest Zoo have already received around 900 euros for food and the construction of new enclosures / aviaries. Whenever he rearranged the exhibited pictures, Seip observed how people look at the small exhibition with fascination. “The people were thrilled,” reports Seip. Since he wants to support the Black Forest Zoo even more with this campaign, he redecorated the exhibition in the shop windows of the former Cafe Schill and added more pictures. It is Seip’s wish that even more pictures change hands and so the Black Forest Zoo is even better supported. The Black Forest Zoo is one of the most popular excursion destinations in the Second Valley and is therefore an important economic factor in the tourist sector.

At the weekend the Muggaseggele Cup took place for the fourth time. In this working test, hunting dogs have to cope with typical hunting tasks. Seip had painted the advertising poster for the Muggaseggele Cup. It was auctioned after the competition. Seip also donated the proceeds of 250 euros to the Black Forest Zoo to finance the redesign of the enclosure.
