Wang said China appreciates the positive contribution that President Hassan Rouhani and the Iranian government have made to the development of Sino-Iranian relations over the past eight years, and is ready to work with President-elect Ebrahim Raisi and the Iranian government. new Iranian government to assert the fine traditions of mutual trust and support between the two countries, strengthen cooperation and friendly exchanges, continue to jointly oppose unilateralism and acts of intimidation, firmly defend multilateralism as well than international equity and justice, and better safeguard the common interests of China, Iran and other developing countries. Zarif thanked China for providing vaccines and other anti-epidemic materials to Iran to support its fight against the pandemic. The Iranian side hopes to continue strengthening cooperation against COVID-19 with China. Iran attaches great importance to its relations with China, and is convinced that bilateral relations will deepen further after the new Iranian government takes office.
The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in Afghanistan and other issues.
