Warcraft 3: Reforged runs in the same engine as the original game – which means you can play old fan maps and mods with it. If a figure using the original model of Arthas, for example, will automatically use the improved new in Reforged. We learned that at BlizzCon in conversation with Blizzard.
So we can go directly with Dota in Warcraft 3: Reforged getting started? It's not that easy, because such complex creations push the game to its limits: "This has too many peculiarities," says Blizzard. So if a map uses too many self-made elements that were not in the original game, you probably will not be able to play them smoothly in Reforged.

However, the developers promise not only to support the map editor for the remaster, but even to expand it with new functions – even if they currently do not want to give specific examples. Maybe we will be able to play Dota in Warcraft: Reforged sooner or later. Blizzard also hopes that the game will rebuild itself into a community just like the original, creating new works for Reforged.
