Was Flooded, Residents of Pondok Bambu Ask This House Bridge to be Bombed

Jakarta

Residents who were previously worried about flooding from the newly built anti-flood sewer in the Haji Dogol Reservoir area, are now starting to receive follow-up actions to prevent flooding. They are now asking for this small bridge to be demolished at the same time because it blocks the flow of water from other routes.

One of the residents who expressed their aspirations was Jatmiko. Residents who are potentially affected by flooding are in RT 1, RT 2, RT 13 in RW 11 Pondok Bambu Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. This neighborhood is located in the residential area of Jl Bambu Ori I-IV, Jl Teluk Bima, Jl Teluk Sampit, Jl Teluk Tomini, Jl Teluk Ratai, Jl Teluk Ambon, and Jl Teluk Mandar.

“Still have obstacle (barriers to the flow of water in the drainage), including the residents’ bridge. If obstacle if it is removed, it will facilitate the flow of water thereby reducing water overflow,” Jatmiko told detik.comFriday (10/21/2022).

This water flow actually does not come from an anti-flood sewer that is being built in the Dogol Reservoir area, but from a water channel that existed earlier.

The size of the bridge that residents complained about was only as wide as the gate of a resident’s house. However, to dismantle the bridge, residents encountered material problems.

The residents’ meeting was just held this morning, attended by elements of the Satpol PP, the Village Head of Pondok Bambu, and the owner of the house bridge above the water canal. The water flowing under the bridge should be able to flow more smoothly to the connecting channel on Jl Teluk Sibolga.

Steps of the East Jakarta City Government

Reported by the official website of the East Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jktim), East Jakarta Mayor M Anwar has inspected the location of the flood on Jl Perindu RT 16 RW 6, which was also flooded on October 11. He also responded to residents who protested that they were worried about the flood of water coming from Jl Teluk Mandar, none other than the residents of the Jatmiko neighborhood who live.

“There are residents of Pondok Bambu Village who complain and put up banners because the water comes from Teluk Mandar, the water is overflowing to this location, even though that’s not the problem,” said Anwar.

Residents of 3 RTs in RW 11, Pondok Bambu Village, expressed their aspirations to launch sewers to avoid flooding, action on October 9, 2022. The mayor explained, he had found the solution by preparing crossing channel to river and go straight to crossing which had previously been made on Jalan Laut Banda. Later, the Channel Basin (DS) in the Banda Sea will be lowered so that the flow of water around the flooded area is higher and can flow smoothly downstream.

“If I lower the Channel Basin here, the water will come back here too, and earlier I had technical discussions with the local SDA, RW and RT Sub-dept. crossing times,” said Anwar.

Development crossing or sodetan has been done. The existing channels are then deepened. Jatmiko as a resident responded.

“Regarding this, a very significant work is lowering u ditch on the channel on Jl Buluh Perindu I to enter the Banda Sea channel, but to make it more optimal it can be considered for dimensions u ditchnya enlarged considering the water capacity of the Sibolga Bay channel is very large,” said Jatmiko to detik.com.
