“We are still perfectible”

Bruno Genesio, the coach of Stade Rennais, was generally satisfied after the victory of his players (3-0) against Strasbourg, Wednesday during the 21st day of Ligue 1. But he also raised some points for improvement.

Bruno Genesio, Rennes coach, after the 3-0 victory against Strasbourg: “I would have preferred that we had a better second half, especially in two or three somewhat avoidable situations. We lost a few balloons which I didn’t like a bit anyway. Today we won the match 3-0 so it’s okay. SATURDAY (against Lille), it will be less. Even if I’m satisfied with the game overall because we scored three goals and we didn’t concede, we can still improve. If we want to play at the top of the table, we have to be even more serious. »

Matthieu Le Scornet, Strasbourg coach : “When you come to Rennes, you know it’s never easy. We studied the offensive will of Stade Rennais. Now that does not excuse the goals taken at the start of each half. Today, we arrived much too timid. We suffered, very quickly, without any aggression in our last 30 meters. This is a very strong line of progress. When you play a team of this level, it’s always special. The feeling tonight (Wednesday), it is necessary to persevere. We will have to show more intensity, aggressiveness. There are still points to take against opponents of the same caliber. We have to play the matches with our strength and conviction to show that we are capable of competing and winning these matches. »
