We have made miniature paper birds every day for a whole year

Hello, I am Vaishali, myself and my partner Nayan, we are paper-cut artists in India. We have been making artworks with cutting edges for the past year. We have tackled the 365-day challenge of making miniature birds with paper and watercolors for this entire year 2018. Here we share our artworks from our ongoing series of miniature birds.

The concept of these miniatures is to express the complexity and liveliness of the birds around us. We used the technique of cutting laminated paper to give volume to the artworks and to give it a three-dimensional feel.

All works of art are completely hand-carved and hand-painted and are made without the use of any form of magnifying tools. Each layer is precisely hand cut on paper and painted in the exact shadow of the bird, after which it is assembled to get the final look. Each illustration lasts 4-8 hours, depending on the details of feathers and colors. Some of the smallest paper birds measure just 1.8 cm in height (from head to tail).

Visit our Instagram profile for daily updates on our little "Paper Birds". Enjoy our artworks.
