How to remedy the loss of confidence of certain citizens towards the police?

On a daily basis, the police are doing a wonderful job in protecting the French against insecurity and terrorism. It’s an undeniable fact. But in the face of recent events, the first answer to be given is first to name things: in a certain number of cases, it is indeed characterized police violence. It must be said.

In a democracy, people need to trust their police. In order to rebuild this bond of trust, it is therefore necessary to clearly name police violence. If we suggest that we minimize this problem by not naming it, it risks spilling over to the entire police institution. It would be unfair to the vast majority of police officers, who are absolutely exemplary and flawless in their work.
