Offenbach (dpa / lnw) – The people in North Rhine-Westphalia have to be prepared for wet and changeable weather. The reason for this is a low that continues to direct polar sea air into the country, as the German Weather Service (DWD) announced on Wednesday morning. From Thursday, however, a high pressure influence should gradually prevail.
This Wednesday morning there are showers, especially in the north. But it can also rain a little in the south. Short thunderstorms are also possible from noon, sometimes with small-grain hail. In addition, gusts of wind can move across the country at up to 60 kilometers per hour. The maximum values are between 14 and 16 degrees, in the mountains around 11 degrees.
In the night of Thursday it can rain, especially in the north, sometimes like a shower. The lowest values are between 9 and 6 degrees, in the mountains up to 4 degrees. The DWD also expects showers at times on Thursday. Thunderstorms are also expected in some cases in East Westphalia. The maximum values are between 14 and 17 degrees, at higher altitudes around 11 degrees.
