That’s how important Ducksch is to Füllkrug

An observation trip with knowledge gain!

National coach Hansi Flick (57) took Bremen goalscorer 2-1 in Hoffenheim at Werder Niclas filling jug (29) under the magnifying glass.

What he saw: a goal and an assist from the World Cup candidate! But: without a strike partner Marvin Ducksch (28) would not be as strong as Füllkrug (eight goals this season) …

Coach Ole Werner (34): “They look for each other, know their paths and know where the other player wants the ball. That’s the benefit for both of them. One is important to the other.”

Ducksch (five assists) already put in the filling krug 5-1 against Gladbach and after the game campaigned for his partner to be called up for the national team.

Both strikers complement each other perfectly: Füllkrug is the classic center forward, Ducksch plays around him as a hanging striker. The latter says: “I know how I need him and he knows exactly how he needs me.”

Ducksch really wants to help his buddy to the World Cup. That’s why he didn’t make any claims about the last-minute penalty in Hoffenheim. Ducksch: “I told him that I would try to help him and concede a goal or two in the first half of the season.”

The duo was directly involved in 14 of Werder’s 20 goals. Together they have 17 scorer points.
