What diplomatic game has the kingdom of Morocco engaged in?

Morocco has had enough. Nearly ten years after formulating its autonomy plan for the Sahara without obtaining international recognition of its sovereignty over this territory disputed by the Sahrawi separatists of the Polisario Front, the kingdom has radically changed its strategy. Rather than continuing its lobbying within the United Nations, where the file stumbles on the impossible organization of a referendum, Morocco is ostensibly turning away from its traditional allies, too timid for its taste, and is seeking new support from 2016.
