WhatsApp is testing the screen sharing feature

WhatsApp has recently come up with a series of new and useful functions, which already delight or are yet to reach our mobile devices. However, the company does not stop there and puts the next new option on the table, which this time will be more relevant for those who make video calls on a daily basis. WhatsApp is currently testing a screen sharing feature that will record and display your screen content to other video call participants.

The new screen sharing feature will be found at the bottom of the screen next to tools like switch cameras, mute sound, disable video. Until the user selects the screen sharing option, the app will ask whether to start recording using WhatsApp. Clicking “Start now” will automatically share the content of the user’s screen. After that, the user will be able to stop screen sharing at any time.

It should be noted that the screen sharing function is currently only available to selected Android beta testers. WhatsApp, however, indicates that the new option will be available to more users in the near future.
