Red Dead Redemption 2, the multiplayer mode, Red Dead Online, was not available when the game was launched last month. Instead, it should arrive sometime in November. Now Take-Two boss Strauss Zelnick has been upset as this month may be available.
During a payday deal, Zelnick said Red Dead Online will launch "towards the end of the month". That's not very specific, but it's the first time that Red Dead Online has been released in November.
Red Dead Online will initially be released in beta, and developer Rockstar Games expects some issues and other issues. What the mode actually involves, we have heard very little. You can read what we hope in Red Dead Online. Rockstar summed it up like this:
"With the gameplay of the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online can be explored on its own or with friends, as well as constant updates and adjustments to enhance this experience for all players."
The start towards the end of November means that Red Dead Online may be released around the Thanksgiving holidays in the US and the Bonanza shopping season on Black Friday.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 Achievements / Trophy Lists contain hints on what you can expect from Red Dead Online. The "Series Major" success is achieved by participating in a series. Another achievement is unlocked for accepting a certain number of Free Roam missions, while Red Dead Online also has a kind of numeric rating system. There are also "posses" in Red Dead Online, and you can succeed if you successfully fight the freewheel mission of a rival group, but it's not clear what that means. In Red Dead Online, you can also purchase storage upgrades.
Like GTA Online with GTA V, Red Dead Online is a free experience for anyone buying Red Dead Redemption 2. The mode of microtransactions as part of Take-Two is expected to involve using microtransactions in almost all of its games. GTA Online has been and still is a huge commercial success, and Red Dead Online wants to continue this.
The staggered release between base game and online mode is nothing new to Rockstar. The previous title of the studio, Grand Theft Auto V, was launched on September 17, 2013 with the online mode GTA Online, which will be released about two weeks later on October 1st.
Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped 17 million copies, and it only took eight days to surpass the number of copies that surpassed the 2010 copy delivered by Red Dead Redemption in eight years.
