When Elephants Dream of Music – Duo Oltheten Gomide

A Dutch violinist, Daphne Oltheten, and a Brazilian pianist, Henrique Gomide, sign the album ‘Brasis’ with works by Elomar (‘Bespa’), Hermeto Pascoal (‘Montreux’), Guinga (‘Meu pai’), Moacir Santos ( ‘Vaidoso’) or Garoto (‘Debussyana’). And another duo, the one formed by American trombonist and singer Natalie Cressman and Brazilian guitarist and singer Ian Faquini have released ‘Auburn whisper’ with pieces such as ‘Benção de Iansã’, ‘Afoxé pra Oxum’ and ‘Rear window’. From the 1991 album ‘Breath of Brazil’, by jazz pianist Joanne Brackeen, ‘Madalena’ and ‘Candles’, by Ivan Lins, ‘So many stars’ by Sergio Mendes, and ‘Gold Years’ by Antonio Carlos Jobim and Chico Buarque.
