Cristiano Ronaldo will have had a special season with Manchester United for his return to the Premier League. The Portuguese is his team’s top scorer, at 37, but sees ManU finish outside the top 4 in the league, qualifying for the Champions League.
A question mark persisted over the future of the five-time Ballon d’Or. Manchester United have hired a new manager, Erik Ten Hag. The former coach of Ajax Amsterdam had not yet expressed his wish to keep or not the superstar in his team for next season.
It’s now done. In an interview with the Telegraaf newspaper, Ten Hag said he was counting on the 37-year-old next year. “I want to keep Cristiano at Man United, of course. He was very important for this club“.
“Ronaldo is a giant, because of everything he has shown so far and because of his ambition“, added the coach.
