Xiaomi, the smart manufacturing and consumer electronics company with smartphones and smart hardware connected via an Internet of Things (IoT) platform, has been awarded by “Institutional Investor”, a renowned international financial magazine, in multiple categories of the Asia Pacific (Ex Japan) Executive Team Awards 2022 for the fourth year in a row.
In the technology hardware sector, Xiaomi won the No. 1 spot in five categories: Best CEO, Best CFO, Best Investor Relations Professional, Best Investor Relations Program, and Best Environmental Management. Social and Governance. This is the first year that Xiaomi has earned All-Star status, achieving a clean first place in the combined rankings in all five categories.
The winning executives were: Lei Jun, Founder, President and CEO of Xiaomi, Alain Lam, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Anita Chen, Director of Investor Relations and Capital Markets. Meanwhile, Xiaomi as a company ranked No. 1 in the categories of Best Investor Relations Program and Best Environmental, Social and Governance Management. This is the fourth year that Xiaomi has appeared in the rankings since its stock market debut. The results demonstrate that the company’s overall investment relationship management and corporate governance capabilities are well recognized by the capital markets.

This year’s All-Asia Executive Team survey rankings assessed the performance of companies in the period from February 2021 to January 2022, including how well companies responded and developed investor relations amid the Covid-19 pandemic. The rankings have become a benchmark for superior corporate governance standards, as they are voted on by recognized members within the financial industry, and the rigorous evaluation process ensures the legitimacy of the awards.
This year, a total of 4,854 buy-side portfolio managers and analysts, and 607 sell-side analysts participated in the All-Asia Executive Team Honored Companies 2022 survey. The 1,612 companies nominated across 12 sectors this year were rated in core areas, including (1) Senior Executive Accessibility (2) Strategy Execution (3) Knowledgeable and Trained Incident Response (IR) Team (4) NDR/Conference/Call Productivity (5) Ability to answer (6) Commercial and market knowledge (7) Coherence and Granularity (that is, the scale or level of detail present in a data set), (8) ESG Information (Environmental, Social and Corporate Management), (9) Timeliness of disclosure, etc.
