The eighth defeat in as many league matches USLG Cherbourg-en-Cotentin is the heaviest since the slap suffered in Aulnoye at the beginning of October (44-80). Saturday’s game against the Federal Center, which has only one victory, promises to be an important moment of the season. Tangos.

News: How do you judge the performance of your players?

Yoann Cabioc’h : What is crying is our lack of discipline. We had a lot of shortcomings in respecting the instructions. We have air holes and against good teams, that is not forgiving.

Was it Reims-Champagne which forced you to these shortcomings?

YC: I think it’s a team worth a top 4, but honestly it was not unreachable. We come back a bit at the end of the match, but without discipline, it was not possible to hope for anything. We weren’t rigorous.

For Lucie Carlier's Glacériennes, the reception of the Federal Center could be a turning point.

“It is not for me to galvanize them”

How did these rigor concerns translate into the field?

YC: We had clear defensive instructions on some players that were not respected. Offensively too, there were instructions that were only applied once in three. It is not possible.

Often, one of your players manages to stand out: this was the case with Akela Maize, Yvonne Enjolvy or Lucie Carlier in the past, and Whitney Miguel on Saturday (19 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists). Why can’t they shine at the same time?

YC: This illustrates our inconstancy. We have the level, but episodically.

Your last outings had rather suggested progress. Do you feel that this heavy defeat is a step backwards?

YC: No, because our good matches took place at home. Outside, the context is different. But we must not forget the progress that has been made since the start of the season. Simply, we make too many small mistakes, it’s incredible.

Saturday, the home meeting against the Federal Center promises to be a turning point. How are you going to galvanize your players for this major meeting?

YC: It could be a turning point, but it’s not for me to galvanize them, because this championship is also their project. They must come to be able to be constant for 40 minutes.
