Youth Job Connection offers more employers to teach teens soft skills

Mauldin, SC – The third annual Youth Job Connection will be held at Mauldin United Methodist Church this month.

More than 200 students attended last year's event. The organizer Bill Vicary of Life Skills U stated that he had expanded the number of Upstate companies present.

This free event allows students to meet local business representatives at a job fair.

Vicary said the students watched a short video detailing their life skills and why they are important for a successful landing.

Students aged 15 to 25 learn how to apply life skills and meet with a panel of local employers.

The students get to know the expectations of the employers and participate in a question and answer session.

Vicary said some of the companies involved are Spinx, Home Depot, YMCA and Frankie's Fun Park.
