YouTube app to appear next week for the Nintendo Switch

Although the Nintendo Switch was launched in the spring of last year, no YouTube app for the Japanese game console has been released yet. According to a note on the official website, this could change in the next few days.

Once the North American website of the Nintendo title "Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum 'n' Fun!" was recharged several times, appeared in the recommended games, including a previously unknown YouTube app for the switch. The program will be released on 8th November. After clicking on the corresponding link, however, only the standard error message for non-existent subpages comes to light.

Hardly any streaming services for the switch

Basically, the owners of the console can only rely on a very limited streaming offer. In addition to the Niconico service, the Hulu app can also be used. Only with a hidden browser, which was originally intended only for establishing a connection with public Wi-Fi hotspots, you can surf the Internet with the switch. Nintendo still believes in its own opinion that the device was designed primarily for playing, not for visiting websites or watching streaming content.

Of course, the hint does not guarantee that the app will actually be released on November 8 for the handheld hybrid. It could be, for example, that the software is initially provided only in some regions and in this country only at a later date or not appear. Currently, playing YouTube videos on the switch is only possible through the hidden browser or complicated workarounds.
