Zity and WiBLE are back, but with big changes

Car rental companies Zity and WiBLE have announced this Monday the reactivation of their respective services on the occasion of the advance in the de-escalation of the confinement, although with new requirements and security measures.

Zity will reactivate its service next Wednesday, May 20, when it will also be launched in Paris, with new features to guarantee the responsible and safe mobility of citizens. This company, controlled by Ferrovial and Renault, which has been inactive since the government decreed a state of alarm on March 14, has announced in a statement on Monday the new rules and recommendations for users in order to avoid contagion.

Among them, take the temperature before using the vehicle, the mandatory use of masks, the gauging measures that are the same as those of private vehicles and always follow the recommendations of the health and government authorities.

The company will deploy “roaming cleaning patrols”In the Community of Madrid to ensure the sanitation of its fleet, thus vehicles will be disinfected with a strict protocol whenever they pass through the recharging bases, which will occur at most every 48 hours.

“With the support of Ferrovial and Renault’s health and safety specialists, we have implemented operating procedures and new rules for using the service,” said Zity CEO Javier Mateos.

With the aim of facilitating the service, they will incorporate adjustments in rates, promotions, a new customer service channel through WhatsApp, and the extension of the validity of the “savings pack” acquired before the alarm state until December 31 .

Zity has announced that they have expanded the active areas in Madrid, with the incorporation of the neighborhoods of San Blas, Barajas and Valdebebas, thus covering the entire interior of the Madrid M-40, more than 200 square kilometers of coverage.

For his part, WiBLE -company participated by Kia and Repsol- resumes its service in Madrid and neighboring municipalities from today, with the vehicles duly subjected to hygiene and cleaning measures, as detailed in a statement. Now, for the moment, it will provide a single service, called WiBLE Más, with vehicle rental for days (from 3 to 28) and not for minutes, as before the pandemic. This new service begins its testing phase on Monday, which will last approximately a week, with a limited number of cars and users who will validate and enrich the service with their experiences. The availability of the rest of the fleet, made up entirely of 500 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrids, will be gradually expanded to the entire customer base. Prices will start from 28 euros a day.
