Zoom Video Communications, the developer of Zoom’s video conferencing service, has announced an agreement to purchase cloud service provider Five9, according to a posting on the company’s website.

The deal is valued at $ 14.7 billion. Under the agreement, one Five9 share will be exchanged for 0.5533 class A Zoom shares. The deal is scheduled to close in the first half of 2022.

Five9 was founded in 2001. The company will be the operational arm of Zoom. Five9 CEO Rowan Trollope will remain in office and in parallel will replace Zoom’s president.

Zoom CEO Eric Yuan described the Five9 as suitable for “improving the platform.” Zoom said the purchase of Five9 will allow the company to develop its own cloud telephony service Zoom Phone. Cloud products that Five9 offers on its site include call center software, customer support assistants, and employee monitoring services.
