Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov emotionally reacted to a statement by ex-President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev. He told the publication Der Spiegel that he did not regret perestroika and considered one of its most important aspects a new foreign policy thinking.
According to Zyuganov, in fact, there was "no restructuring." He noted that Gorbachev simply "broke the country." The politician emphasized that the CPSU was not a party, but a management system. He added that if you break the "steering wheel of a Lada" and try to control it that way, then "you would hear" an idiot! "
“And Gorbachev broke the steering wheel in the country, in a huge ship – he’s not just an idiot, he’s a criminal!” Zyuganov said, the FAN reports.
Also, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation called it sad that Gorbachev could not realize what he had done in his old age. He called the collapse of the country a crime without statute of limitations! Gorbachev, in his words, "should be in prison, and not speculate whether he regrets perestroika."
The former president of the USSR expressed his opinion on perestroika to Der Spiegel. Gorbachev is sure that it was impossible to live as before, and the new foreign policy thinking was based on universal values and freedom of choice.
