MOSCOW, Nov. 3 – RIA News. Communist Party leader Gennady Zyuganov commented on the situation with the nomination of a candidate for the post of governor of Primorsky Krai after the regional branch of the Communist Party decided not to participate in the election campaign. According to him, there is still time to nominate a candidate from the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation.

“It is necessary to bring order in order to put forward, and it is necessary to participate so that the meaning is elementary order,” Zyuganov told RIA Novosti.

At the same time, the leader of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation added, the party believes that its candidate won the September elections, the results of which were declared invalid by the electoral commission.

“All materials were sent to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Investigation Committee. We demanded to investigate and give us an official response,” Zyuganov said.

Elections in Primorye

The second round of elections for the governor of Primorsky Krai was held on September 16. It was attended by the then acting head of the region Andrei Tarasenko and the Communist Party candidate Andrei Ischenko. During the voting, mass violations were noted, both candidates filed dozens of complaints accusing each other of falsifying the protocols. As a result, the election commission on the recommendation of the CEC recognized the election results invalid.

After that, President Vladimir Putin appointed Oleg Kozhemyako, the Acting Governor of Primorye, who had previously headed the Sakhalin Region as Acting Governor.

In the Communist Party of the Russian Federation cancellation of elections do not recognize and consider that Ishchenko won them. He tried to challenge the decision of the regional electoral commission, but the Primorsky regional court rejected his claim. After that, Ischenko appealed to the Supreme Court.

New elections for the head of Primorye are scheduled for December 16. Last week, the election commission began accepting documents for the nomination of candidates.
