The American authorities announced that they had arrested a car driver near the White House after it collided with the fence of the presidential residence, without it being immediately clear whether the matter was just an accidental traffic accident or an intentional act.
The Secret Service, which is responsible for protecting the president and senior state officials, explained that President Joe Biden was not in the White House when the incident occurred.

He added, “The driver was detained and an investigation was conducted into the cause of the accident and how it occurred.”
It was not immediately clear whether the collision was just an accident or a possible attack on the building located in the center of Washington, DC.
According to Guglielmi, Washington police moved the car, but “the driver is still in custody, and our investigation is continuing.”
