Today, Tuesday, the Border Ports Authority announced the arrest of a foreign traveler who attempted to smuggle $40,000 at Najaf Al-Ashraf Airport.
The authority said in a statement received by the (INA): “The Najaf Al-Ashraf International Airport Port Directorate, in cooperation with the Customs Center and the Customs Police, was able to arrest a foreign traveler who was found in possession of an amount of money exceeding the permissible limit according to the instructions of the Central Bank, as the total amounted to The total ($40,000) is hidden in the lining of the inner jacket.”
She added, “A committee has been formed and a proper arrest report has been organized,” noting that “the accused has been referred to the Najaf Al-Ashraf Airport Police Station Directorate to take appropriate legal measures against her.”
