Amman Chamber of Industry: Iraq is the fourth largest importer of Jordanian industries in 10 months

/ Jordan announced, on Sunday, that Iraq was the fourth importer to Amman’s industry within 10 months of the current year 2023.

The Jordanian Amman Chamber of Industry said in a report seen by Agency: The Chamber’s exports during 10 months of the current year 2023 reached 5.857 billion Jordanian dinars, compared to 6.262 billion Jordanian dinars for the same period in 2022.

She added, “India, the United States of America, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq accounted for the majority of the Amman Chamber of Industry’s exports during 10 months of the current year, recording a value of 3.393 billion Jordanian dinars.”

She pointed out that “Amman’s industry exports to Iraq rose during 10 months of the current year, to 717 million Jordanian dinars, compared to 546 million Jordanian dinars for the same period last year, an increase of 8.1 percent, and it became the fourth importer of Jordanian industry.”

She explained, “With regard to the geographical distribution of the Chamber’s exports during the 10 months of the current year, the Arab countries came first with a value of 2.562 billion dinars, the non-Arab Asian countries had 1.658 billion Jordanian dinars, and the African countries had 58 million Jordanian dinars.”

The US dollar is equal to about 70 Jordanian dinars.

It is noteworthy that Iraq imports most goods and merchandise from neighboring countries, especially Turkey and Iran, after Jordan was a large market for Iraq in the nineties of the last century during the period of the economic blockade on Iraq.
