/ The Israeli Broadcasting Corporation announced, on Saturday, that the Israeli army informed the family of a Hamas hostage that their son was killed in Gaza by the movement’s militants.

The authority said that the matter relates to the young man, Saher Bruch (25 years old), who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri, on October 7, during an attack by Hamas members on Israel.

The news of Saher’s death comes after Israeli forces carried out a failed attempt to free hostages in Gaza, which resulted in two soldiers being “seriously injured” and two kidnappers “killed”, while Hamas announced the killing of a hostage during the operation.

Saher’s brother, Idan, and their grandmother, Ghiola Bacher, were also killed during a Hamas attack in October, according to the Israeli Broadcasting Authority.

The commission’s report stated in particular: “The number of people killed in Be’ri since the massacre committed in the cover has risen to ninety-three.”

It is noteworthy that Hamas published a video tape in which Saher (25 years old) appeared, saying that he wanted to return to his home, and then broadcast another tape in which it said that he was killed during the Israeli army’s attempt to release him.

The movement carried out a surprise attack on Israel, killing 1,200 people and kidnapping 240 others. Some of them were released during a previous truce, while a number of others remained in the hands of Hamas, which is classified as a terrorist organization in the United States and other countries.

Speaking to the press on Friday, Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari said, “Israeli forces raided a Hamas site and killed terrorists who participated in kidnapping and taking hostages.”

The military official did not provide further details about the raid, saying only that it “failed in the end and no hostages were rescued.”

Soroka Hospital in Beersheba revealed that the two injured soldiers are in serious condition and are receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.

The army said it continually informs hostage families whenever it receives verifiable information about their situation. The army also warned of Hamas’ repeated attempts to “wage psychological warfare regarding the fate of the hostages,” calling on the public “not to spread rumours.”

This is the second known attempt by the Israeli forces to free the hostages, after the rescue of soldier, Uri Magedish, on October 30, after she was kidnapped in the October 7 attack.
