Today, Thursday, the Iraq Cup Championship for Provincial Teams Fencing Competitions will begin, which will be hosted by Basra Governorate and will continue until the thirtieth of December.

The media coordinator of the Fencing Federation, Azhar Ali, told the (INA): “The complex of specialized halls affiliated with Basra Youth and Sports will host the Iraq Cup Championship competitions for the provincial teams for the three weapons and for the men’s category, amid wide participation,” indicating that “this tournament will be held under the auspices of the Central Iraqi Fencing Federation.” And the modern pentathlon, which is the conclusion of the Union’s curriculum for the current year 2023.”
Ali added, “The Game Federation directed the formation of a committee to supervise the tournament, follow up and provide all the necessary requirements for its success.”
Ali continued, “His federation has directed to set a program for next year, launch activities, name committees, and create appropriate conditions for holding local tournaments and foreign participation, as well as starting maintenance of the halls once the current season ends.”
