Distributing the electronic card inside gas stations for free »

The General Company for Petroleum Products Distribution announced today, Thursday, the distribution of the electronic card at gas stations for free, while indicating the existence of banking cooperation to make the electronic payment mechanism at gas stations successful.

The director of the Baghdad Distribution Authority at the General Company for Petroleum Products Distribution, Muhammad Shubar, told the (INA): “Implementing the electronic payment decision within fuel filling stations is a civilized issue that most developed countries work on,” indicating that “the Petroleum Products Distribution Company has addressed Companies linked to the Central Bank and some government banks in order to provide and distribute the electronic card for free and thus facilitate its acquisition for people with limited income.”

He explained, “A meeting will be held with electronic payment companies in order to discuss the mechanism of opening kiosks inside the distribution outlets and completing the cards and delivering them to the citizen easily,” noting that “some banks have expressed their willingness to deliver the card to the citizen’s home for free.”

He added, “Most banks and companies for electronic payment are cooperating to make the project a success, as it is part of the government program. It is hoped that electronic payment will be fully adopted within the distribution outlets over the next year.”

He pointed out, “Next week, the mechanism for paying fines will be introduced within the Baghdad Distribution Authority’s accounts department, and it will be via electronic payment cards and…POS“.
