Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola revealed today, Friday, the latest developments in Haaland’s injury and his position on the Club World Cup.

Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said, “Erling Haaland is expected to miss the second consecutive match in the English Premier League due to a foot injury, expressing his hope that the striker will be able to travel with the team to the Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia.”
Guardiola added: “I don’t think so (that he will be able to play on Saturday), but perhaps suddenly they will tell me something new, but I don’t think so.”
Haaland missed the team’s 2-1 win over Luton Town last Sunday due to what Guardiola described as a stress reaction, and then did not travel with the team to Belgrade for the 3-2 win over Red Star in the Champions League last Wednesday.
The stress reaction leads to swelling and bruising in the bones, which can develop into something more serious, which is a stress crack, but Guardiola said: “He is not worried about the 23-year-old striker, who is the league’s top scorer with 14 goals.”
The coach added: “No, it’s not a crack, it’s just fatigue and sometimes players recover faster.”
Guardiola stressed: “The doctors will examine him and we will see how he feels. I hope he will be able to travel to Saudi Arabia, tomorrow, Saturday, after the match. I think he will travel with us and after that we will see if he is able to play the first or second match or when we return to Manchester.”
